Position Summary: 




The Chief Workforce Officer is a strategic leader who is focused on the broader workforce, culture and employee experience, while also overseeing core HR operations. The CWO ensures the organization has the skills, culture, and HR infrastructure to execute on business goals now and in the future. The CWO takes a future-focused approach to workforce planning and talent management.  The CWO is a key driver of organizational success, competitiveness, and resilience.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




1. Commitment to providing health care to families in a medically underserved community.




2. Willingness to be flexible in the development of new methods of health service delivery.




3. Ability to deal with sensitive information in a highly confidential manner.




4. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, health care professionals, funders and other regulatory agencies.




5. Bilingual in English and another language appropriate to the health center’s patient population preferred, but not required.




6. Ability to function independently with minimal supervision, and to plan, coordinate, and carry out those tasks necessary to meet the job responsibilities.




7. Awareness of resources available within the health center to accommodate the needs of patients.




8. Commitment to providing cost conscious, fiscally responsible, timely, efficient, effective, safe, patient-centered, culturally competent, equitable, and participatory health care.




9. Processes personal health information in accordance with FHCW HIPPA policies and procedures.




Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Strategic workforce planning
  2. Forecasting future talent and skills needed for the organization
  3. Developing workforce and talent acquisition strategies
  4. Planning for shifts in industry and labor market trends
  5. Talent management;
  6. Overseeing recruiting, onboarding, learning and development.
  7. Implementing employee retention strategies.
  8. Enhancing performance management systems
  9. Leadership development and succession planning.
  10. Employee experience;
  11. Fostering an engaging, inclusive and positive organizational culture.
  12. Promoting collaboration, innovation and employee wellbeing.
  13. Enhancing overall employee, satisfaction and productivity.
  14. People Operations;
  15. Managing the HR team and HR policies/programs.
  16. Ensuring legal/regulatory compliance
  17. Development of HR workflows, systems, and analytics.
  18. Digital and Operational Transformation
  19. Designing human capital management capabilities in ERP
  20. Designing employee self-service experience in ERP
  21. Collaborating on enterprise resource planning platform selection and deployment. 




 Key Skills required:




This role requires a blend of strategic vision, leadership capabilities, talent management skills, data-driven mindset, and communications abilities.



  1. Strategic thinking and business acumen: The CWO needs strong strategic skills to align workforce strategy to overall organizational goals and anticipate future trends. Business savvy is essential to understand operations and advise executives.
  2. Analytics and forecasting: Skills in data analysis and modeling to forcast talent needs and provide workforce analytics and insights. Ability to leverage HR metrics and systems.
  3. Communication and influence: Excellent verbal and written communications to convey ideas, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across the organization.
  4. Leadership and management: Strong leadership skills to effectively manage teams, drive change management initiatives, and coach/develop employees.
  5. Talent management: Deep expertise in recruiting, onboarding, performance management, retention and talent development initiatives.
  6. Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook.

Chase is a native of Portland, Oregon. He grew up in Lake Oswego and spent his college years playing lacrosse at a small school in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Education Studies. Chase’s passions are tied around sports and coaching. He’s been a lacrosse coach since 2010 and continues volunteering at Jesuit High School as a coach for the men’s varsity lacrosse team. Before entering the healthcare recruitment space, he spent six years in technology sales and two years in healthcare sales, helping hospitals increase patient satisfaction and meaningful use, as well as helping hospitals educate their patients to help their overall readmission rates.  

Chase enjoys spending time with his 2-year-old daughter, wife, two cats, and dog. His passions include snowboarding, longboarding, skating, running, lacrosse, and coaching.
