Title:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Dentist
Reports To:Â Â Chief Dental Officer
Job Summary:Â Â Provides general practitioner dental services in a clinic setting. Provides clinical supervision of dental clinic staff.
Essential Functions:
- Diagnose and treat disease, injuries, and malformations of the teeth, periodontium, and supporting oral structures.
- Provide routine endodontics, prosthodontics, and minor oral surgery when indicated.
- Keep current with advances and changes in the practice of dentistry to provide an optimal level of dental treatment and to maintain licensure.
- Provide clinical supervision of dental assistants/staff.’
- Ability to diagnose and perform general dental treatment for a diverse clientele.
- Ability to operate equipment and instruments necessary to perform dental procedures which relate to the general practice of dentistry.
- Ability to perform dental procedures which relate to the prevention of dental disease and the restoration of masticatory function, aesthetics, and all other aspects of oral health and oral health maintenance.
- Ability to communicate and interact with patients, families, and medical/dental staff from diverse cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds.
- Ability to employ sound management skills in order to supervise clinical staff - dental hygienists, EFDAs, and dental assistants.
- Other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in general dentistry
- Current licensure in the State of Ohio
- Current CPR/AED certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Work Experience:
- Residency completion
- Three or more years of dental practice experience
- Valid DEA license to prescribe narcotics
- Bilingual
