TITLE: Dentist
REPORTS TO: Dental Director
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing dental care and treatment to patients.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assesses the patients to determine dental care needs.
2. Develops a dental treatment plan with the patient/parent or guardian.
3. Educates patients regarding preventive care, planned care and treatment and follow-up care; also provides general health education as it relates to dental care.
4. Makes referrals, as indicated by the assessed needs of the patients.
5. Participates in the on-call schedule.
6. Provides emergency care and treatment, as necessary.
7. Documents complete information on dental charts.
8. Participates as a member of the medical staff and adheres to the medical staff bylaws/rules and regulations.
9. The Dentist must be compliant and cooperate fully with the FQHC's compliance program, including its standards of conduct and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the Dentist’s regular performance evaluation. Failure to comply with the Health Center's written standards, which includes the failure to report any conduct or event that potentially violates legal or compliance requirements, will be met by the enforcement of disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination in accordance with our compliance program.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Current license as a dentist in New York State.
2. Meets all requirements for appointment/reappointment as a member of the dental staff.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Basic computer knowledge

Originally from Flint, Michigan, Kevin served in the US Army as a Military Police officer. After being discharged as a disabled veteran, Kevin returned to Michigan and obtained a degree in Criminal Justice.
