Essential Job Duties
  • Examines treats and advises patients on physical and mental health, and makes referrals to appropriate social or medical providers as needed.
  • Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
  • Performs minor procedures and in-house lab work.
  • Observes assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress; utilizes knowledge of modern methods and techniques of diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and injuries.
  • Provides accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records including providing appropriate code level and diagnosis of patient visits using coding standards.
  • Charts treatment records and monitors results in electronic health record.
  • Supplies patients with appropriate paperwork as needed.
  • Provides evening and weekend consultation on-call as needed.
  • Displays sensitivity to the populations served.
  • Contributes professional medical expertise to the consultative, educational, and evaluative activities other medical and mental health professionals and clinical support staff.
  • Provides oversight of support staff with respect to individual patient management.
  • Participates in team huddles to review the schedule at the start of the clinic day.
  • Participates in process and quality improvement workflows.
  • Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
  • Maintains availability during scheduled on-call hours.
  • Attends required meetings and in-services, and participates in committees as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and/or Experience - Doctoral degree (MD/DO) or equivalent from an accredited school of medicine; completion of Family Practice Residency with at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with underserved populations in a community health center preferred.

Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

This position requires an active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Oregon and be Board Certified. Must have an active DEA license. ACLS or PALS certification required. Must be able to provide all necessary documentation for Oregon credentialing.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Behaviors
  • Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
  • Ability to take and record vital signs and performed assigned lab tests.
  • Ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing with a service oriented approach, sometimes in stressful circumstances.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA policies.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to display sensitivity to the population and patients served.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a record of reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of health care to a diverse and underserved population.
  • Ability to use good judgement in difficult situations.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with peers, management and patients alike.
  • Ability to act as a leader to clinic support staff.
  • Experience and proficiency using Electronic Health Records.
