​Position: Physician - Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
As part of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare providers under the leadership of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or designee, the Physician works to achieve organizational goals of the clinic, which is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), through the delivery of primary care services at a patient-centered environment. The Physician works in a collaborative effort across all departments to remove barriers for accessing healthcare. The Physician must incorporate health center policies (including quality assurance) into their clinical practice to provide quality care commensurate with training and licensure. This position also provides oversight of clinical support staff (i.e. Midlevel Practitioners, Medical Assistants and Nursing staff) and handles operational issues on the clinical floor to ensure continuity of services and a smooth patient flow. Delivers culturally sensitive appropriate care for an outpatient, primary care health center with a multicultural, multilingual patient population.

- Must be in possession of a valid license to practice in the State of California, including DEA license, and CPR.
- Board certification, or Board eligible, in designated primary care specialty field of practice.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of medicine and allied services commensurate with his/her training.
- Demonstrated ability to build the trust and respect of patients, staff, colleagues, external contacts, and other organizational members.
- Good problem solving skills required, including creativity, resourcefulness, timeliness, and technical knowledge related to analyzing and resolving medical problems.
- Willingness and ability to work some evenings and weekends, as needed, within the set time limits.
- Bilingual, especially Spanish, is a plus.
- Valid California Driver’s License, and insurance.

Growing up with three sisters and a single mother, Alphonse quickly learned the value of community. At a young age, his family regularly received assistance from both community health centers and non-profit groups. He understands that without the support of his community, life would have been much different for his family.
