We are hiring a Chief Dental Officer!

 

Join our exceptional Oral Health Clinical Team within our nonprofit, mission-driven dental organization dedicated to expanding access to high-quality oral healthcare for underserved communities across San Mateo County. The organization provides comprehensive dental services—including preventive, pediatric, geriatric, and special needs care—through a culturally sensitive, patient-centered model.




The Opportunity

We are seeking a Chief Dental Officer (CDO) to serve as the clinical leader of the organization, partnering directly with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to drive clinical excellence, operational performance, and strategic growth.




Position Highlights
  • Direct report to our CEO
  • 60% clinical / 40% administrative
  • 4–5 day schedule 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM hours

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $200,000 – $260,000 (DOE)

Clinical Leadership & Responsibilities

The CDO oversees clinical governance, quality, compliance, provider performance, and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include establishing clinical standards, leading quality improvement, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring clinical staff.




Clinical Environment

We operate a structured clinical model with the CDO’s leadership spanning Supervising Dentists, Dentists, and Clinic Managers, supporting quality care delivery and operational efficiency.

We serve a predominantly underserved population, with a strong focus on low-income and Medi-Cal patients. The organization is committed to improving access and long-term oral health outcomes.




Requirements
  • DDS or DMD
  • Eligible for California licensure
  • Clinical leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with underserved populations preferred
